My Beloved

beloved I longingly seek Your presence and delight in Your glory.   Selah.

You apprehend my very being, changing me, lifting me to a realm higher and greater than my own.  Yes, you   totally capture my thoughts and incite my emotions.

I'm empowered by a seemingly tangible force that forever alters the impressions of my soul.

I feel an intoxicating sensation that causes my head to spin. My balance is unstable, my inner parts begin to flutter.  You've enveloped me and taken me captive to be your love slave.

And now, there has awakened in me a cry. From a reservoir deep within me flows tears that are pure. This is a new   river I was unaware of until now.  Abounding, freely flowing and all the while increasing as the walls of my spirit give   way.  I feel a cleansing... a washing.

How did you do this?

A fountain floods my innermost being, breaking down barricades to my heart.

Joy explodes in me as the very core of who I am opens up to You with a zealous passion.

I am lovesick and I am thirsty, yearning to drink deeply of You.   Pour your Spirit in me, O Most Holy One.  The magnificence of You can not be measured or calculated and yet You chose me.

You have turned your eyes toward me and given me Your attention.

You hold my head with your left hand and embrace me with your right.

How is it that riches, honor and long life for me are in your hands as well?

You tell me that your kisses are on my lips.  This must be for I feel your very breath as a gentle wind.

I breathe deeply of your perfumes.  They are of myrrh, saffron, frankincense and choice spices.

I feel light headed, overwhelmed, conquered. I surrender to You, my Master and to your dominion.

Your radiant splendor, so awesome, so wonderful saturates the fabric of my very being, bringing me to my knees. I

lift up my hands, desiring to touch You, feel You, hold You, know You. Carry me away in the Spirit! Take me into You for I long to be a part of You.

You have said, "We are one".  Show me the mysteries of your love, the secrets of your covenant.

Break forth in me liberty that I may rejoice in your true fellowship, receiving You completely, as You ordained it to be.   Remove from me falsehood and all that keeps me from your blessing.

You are my Beloved, the Lover of my soul, my Bridegroom. All that I am I give to You. For I am not my own but I am yours and You are mine.

You have called me and I have answered.  Bind me on your heart, seal me by your Spirit.

I will forever fix my eyes upon you, trusting You with my whole heart.  For I vow to You this day my whole life and I accept your offer to be your bride.

*In both the Jewish and Christian traditions, the name of G-d is treated with honor and respect.  In the Jewish tradition, in order to show respect, the name of the L-rd is written without a vowel.  The idea is that if a document with His name on it is destroyed or deleted, His name will be spared because it was not written out fully.
