History of the Crossover Project

"Hey...whenever you and Mitch have something interesting that you'd like to share on TV, come to our studio in Austin and we'll have you air it live on our program..." stated John DeSimone, an old trusted buddy of ours.

We never thought much of John's comments until months later when we were taking a class taught by Dr. Richard Booker, with the Institute of Hebraic Christian Studies.

Here in this class of 25 students...mainly Christians, Dr. Booker mentioned two points that gripped me:

* The students should repent for any anti-Semitism in their own hearts and the Anti-Semitic thoughts, words or deeds of their families...(The students did)

* There are scriptures alluding to a future Holocaust, and that these students need to help the Jewish people when that arises.
(The students acquiesced)

Being a second-generation Holocaust survivor, I recognized the need for the Jewish community to know about this growing group of Christians who love the Jewish people unconditionally and that more Christians need to be taught these principles.

For the rest of the semester, half of my mind was listening to Dr. Booker's teachings and the other half was jotting down as quickly as I could, program topics for John's TV time!

dctv-awardsWe grew from driving to Austin and producing live broadcasts, where everything that could go wrong, does; to having our own studio donated to us, with cameras, microphones and editing equipment...donated as well. To help defray costs, I took classes on TV production, editing, sound, lighting, writing, and reporting. With the grace of God, this program has been airing on Public Access Cable TV for eight years and on the internet for one year.

We have had some slim times where we thought we might have to stop producing programs, but people began to donate for air time and editing time.
When we began to win awards we realized that we were supposed to continue. In fact, at a time when certain topics were considered irrelevant to the American public, we aired footage of Palestinian youth training camps, comparing them to Hitler's youth and Islamic Jihad burning American and Israeli flags six months before 9/11.

*In both the Jewish and Christian traditions, the name of G-d is treated with honor and respect.  In the Jewish tradition, in order to show respect, the name of the L-rd is written without a vowel.  The idea is that if a document with His name on it is destroyed or deleted, His name will be spared because it was not written out fully.
